Alan Buckman to join Local Thunder's North American broadcast sales efforts
PORTLAND, Maine, July 23, 2008 Local Thunder, an innovative developer of next generation online advertising platforms for local broadcast and newspaper media outlets, today announced that it has appointed Alan Buckman as Sales Director for the Americas region. Buckman brings over twenty five years of experience in the broadcasting and new media industries. In his new position, Buckman will lead Local Thunder's North American sales effort in the television, cable and radio markets and grow Local Thunder's successful business proposition into these areas.
Prior to joining Local Thunder, Buckman held executive sales and management positions at CBS, Viacom, Asian Media Group's KSCI-TV, as well as acted as a strategic advisor to a number of new media companies including egotvonline.com and fliptrack.com. Buckman was a pioneer in Internet sales, heading up sales for kpix.com in the mid 1990's, as kpix.com became the first televisions station website to generate over $1.0M in ad revenue.

He is a past board member of the 3AF (Asian Advertising Federation), a past board member of STAR (Society of Television and Radio, San Francisco), and a member of NATPE (National Association of Television Program Executives).
